Admin/Biograhical History | In 1885, William Rose took out a patent for a wrapping machine, and the business in Gainsborough steadily increased, manufacturing various types of machines. Baker Perkins bought Rose Brothers of Gainsborough in 1961, including the Rose subsidiary, Job Day of Leeds. By 1943 The Forgrove Machinery Company Ltd of Leeds had also been acquired by Baker Perkins, thus extending the wide range of wrapping and packaging machinery manufactured. In 1967, the two companies were amalgamated as Rose Forgrove Ltd and went on to become the largest manufacturer of wrapping and packaging machinery in the world.
