Admin/Biograhical History | In 1945 the Bedewell Works at Hebburn-on-Tyne were established to supplement the output of Westwood Works. The railway was a major influence in choosing this location for a new factory, as the high speed rail link to Peterborough was nearby at Newcastle. Initially working on laundry equipment, Bedewell began to accept other work from Peterborough, and manufactured draw-plate ovens and other bakery machinery. The Bedewell site was closed in 1999.
