Admin/Biograhical HistoryBaker Perkins Co. Inc. had bought the whole of the assets of the Century Machine Company of Cincinnati by 1929. During the Second World War they developed a portable field bakery, and manufactured thousands of them, for use wherever American troops were serving. For this they were given the Army/Navy Award. In 1955 the decision was made to liquidate the Century Machine Company, as the demand for medium-sized machinery which they specialised in, had diminished.
